poor lady

Rewind .... friday last ...

I accompany a friend to a "beauty parlour",sleepy eyed ,after my shift followed by my french classes.My friend wants to get a pedicure done...So this pretty girl puts her feet on this woman's lap ....who is married ... and gets her feet washed as if she were her servant .
The whole thing is revolting...donno why ...and i get the "poor lady " idea in my head....why should anyone have to wash your feet ? But then,isnt it a pride that she earns,can help in feeding her family and by washing someone's feet she is able to stand on her own feet ?

So finally i guess,she is n't a poor lady at all.....
